A LONGQUAN CELADON CARVED OVOID JAR AND COVER
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The body is divided into five registers, each carved with bands of overlapping petals, and there are five upward-curved spouts issuing from the shoulder. The domed cover is similarly carved and has a shaped upturned rim and a bud-form finial. The jar and cover are covered with a translucent glaze of greyish-green color.
