AN UMAYYAD UNGLAZED POTTERY JUG
Cordova, South Spain, 10th Century
With rounded body and gently inwardly sloping neck, a simple handle linking the shoulder and mouth, thinly potted, the exterior painted in a dark slip further splashed with bold cream lines, intact, surface with slight accretions
5 1/8in. (13cm.) high
