WEST ANATOLIA, FIRST HALF 19TH CENTURY
The abrashed deep indigo field with a central hanging floral pendant spray on a sky-blue floral bud-spotted arch, a corroded brown floral cross panel above and below, in multiple floral borders, overall wear, oxidized browns, partial rewoven bottom end, minor losses to top reselvaged sides with some reweaving and slight loss, rewoven area to right borders, other small repairs
Approximately 5ft.7in. x 3ft.11in. (170cm. x 119cm.)
Warp: white wool Z2S, slightly depressed, undulating
Weft: for the most part 2, occasionally 3 shoots yellow wool, Z1, one (and three) undulating, the other more so; at times a single shoot of unplied Z3 wool similarly coloured
Pile: wool Z1, symmetrical inclining to the left, H2.8 x V3.3/cm.
Remarks: lazy lines, weft adjustments
