The Nash Motor Company was founded in 1917 by Charles W. Nash, shortly after he had resigned from his presidency of General Motors in 1916, and by 1918 his cars featured overhead valve engines. Car production went from strength to strength and by 1920 it had reached 35,000 units. Nash bought a half share in the Seaman Body Corporation of Milwaukee to ensure smooth production and, in fact, in 1936 Seaman became the body plant for the Nash Motor Company.

Production in the mid 1920's featured a luxury V8 (which did not sell as well as Nash hoped) and various six cylinder models, the four cylinder having been dropped in 1924. In October 1929 Nash launched his first in-line eight cylinder car, the 4.9 litre, dual ignition "Advanced Eight" which produced 115bhp at 3,600rpm.

The Nash on offer today is fitted with three-position drophead coupe coachwork by The Seaman Body Corporation which appears to be in good condition throughout. The panelwork is good and straight and the doors open and close easily and fit well. The car has spent the majority of its life in South America and has been stored for the past few years, so the condition of the engine is not known at the time time of writing. It will almost certainly require a small amount of re-commissioning prior to use.

A powerful pre-war open car which would be equally suited to long distance touring or afternoon motoring. It is sold in free circulation in the EC.
