A fine German hand-and-a-half sword
Third quarter of the 16th Century
With tapering double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section (edges slightly damaged) struck with letters within the two short fullers on each face of the forte and with a mark on each side of the ricasso, iron guard with much original blued finish, of bars of circular section, comprising long straight quillons with baluster tips, two oval side-guards swelling at the centre, saltire-shaped inner guard, and large thumb-ring, onion-shaped pommel (neck chipped), and flattened shouldered leather-covered grip
