With scratch rifled heavy browned twist octagonal sighted barrels, case-hardened patent recessed breeches each with platinum line, platinum-lined stamp and touch-hole, engraved case-hardened tangs each incorporating a back-sight, signed and engraved case-hardened detented locks each with engraved safety-catch, roller bearing on a ramp, and rainproof pan, the steels each engraved 'Joseph Manton Patent', and numbered 4178, finely figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, blued iron mounts including engraved numbered trigger-guards, butt-caps, trigger-plates each with pineapple finial, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end caps (one with minor damage), original horn-tipped ramrods, and much of their original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including copper three-way flask, the lid with trade label for circa 1810-19 (slightly damaged), the exterior with flush-fitting carrying handle and circular escutcheon
