LATE QING DYNASTY
Woven in the Ming style, the panel formed from sections probably cut from a chuba, displaying a bold central dragon hovering over the terrestrial diagram, flanked by two smaller four-clawed dragons, the dragons woven in gold enveloped by stylized clouds picked out in shades of blue, green, coral and white, all reserved against a rich toffee-brown ground, with later key-fret pattern border, minor staining 74½ x 52¼in. (188.5 x 132.7cm.)
