The gold lacquer formed as a segment of bamboo decorated in togidashi and hiramakie and inlaid in shell, horn, coral, and stained ivory with a young boy painting bamboo on a hanging scroll, the reverse with a toy carp on a cart, both images set within silver lined cartouches, with nashiji liners, and coral bead ojime--3¾ x 4½in. (9.2 x 11.5cm.)
