The first of three cases decorated in iro-e takamaki-e, kirigane and gold foil on a roiro ground with a phoenix and a paulownia tree, the reverse with a riverbank and a paulownia branch, interior cases in nashiji, fitted with an ivory ojime carved with two dragons in low relief, and an ivory netsuke carved in the form of a section of bamboo; the second a Somada-style sheath inro decorated in aogai and gold foil with shells and seaweed strewn along a beach, against a roiro ground faintly dusted with nashiji, enclosing the roiro two-case inro, interior cases in red lacquer, fitted with a carnelian ojime and a lacquer manju netsuke also of shells--3½ and 2 3/8in.
