By the same hand as the Annunciation of similar handling, technique and format, sold at Sotheby's, London, 3 April 1993, lot 188, illustrated. Though obviously from the group of Pre-Rembrandtist artists in the circle of Pieter Lastman like the brothers Jan and Jacob Pynas, Jan Tengnagel, Francois Venant and Claes Cornelisz. Moeyaert, the author of these drawings has not yet been identified. An alternative attribution to Jan de Bray has also been suggested.
