The gorge case engraved with flowers against a matted ground, with bands of quatrefoils and lozenges against a plain ground, the sides mounted with Sèvres style porcelain panels painted with scenes in the Romantic style, the porcelain dial framed with gilt-painted scrolls and floral bouquets, with similar Romantic scenes of amorini and rustic maidens to the dial below the Roman chapter ring, the centre painted with clouds and with tambourine and quiver trophies, with retail signature J.W.BENSON 25 OLD BOND STREET LONDON, blued hands, with bevelled oval top glass, large high quality silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat on gong to the backplate stamped for Drocourt and numbered 11442; with leather travel case and key numbered 11442
