A Composite Two-Hand Processional Sword
Comprehensively 17th Century
With straight flat double-edged blade inlaid in brass on one face with a cross with split ends and an orb and cross on the other (brass incomplete), and long ricasso with two pointed curved lugs, iron hilt with long flat slightly arched quillons with fleur-de-lys shaped ends, small pseudo-arms and broad double side-rings, decorated with engraved lines and saltires, flattened globular pommel chiselled with a relief rosette on top, and writhen leather-covered wire-bound wooden grip with woollen tassels (incomplete) at each end
