A Bttger chinoiserie beaker and a saucer
The beaker circa 1725, the saucer slightly later, blue enamel crossed swords and Dreher's .. mark to beaker, Dreher's x and indistinct gilder's mark to saucer
Painted in the manner of J.G. Hroldt, the beaker with an Oriental beside a child with a basket of fruit on his head, standing below a palm tree, the reverse with an Oriental watching a boiling kettle on a stone plinth, both within gilt quatrefoil cartouches with Bttger-lustre panels and puce and iron-red scrolling foliage, the interior with a band of gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk at the rim, the saucer by another hand with an Oriental lady fanning herself on a fenced terrace (some wear to gilding) (2)
