The decoration circa 1725, the porcelain a little earlier, gilder's Z4. to sugar-box
Decorated at Augsburg in the workshop of Abraham Seuter, each facet of the box gilt alternately with Orientals at various pursuits and with panels of Laub-und-Bandelwerk, below a broad gilt band above scrolls divided by dots, the cover similarly decorated with Orientals and Laub-und-Bandelwerk within a similar border (cover with chip to corner and shallow chip to finial, underside of rim and to flange, small shallow chipping to rim and footrim of box, slight wear to gilding)
