GATES LEEDS with five brass planet balls and moon ball for the earth, revolving on complex gear mechanism around a decorative sunball with flame motif, with two meridian circles each divided in four quadrants, the silvered ecliptic with symbols and names and symbols for the houses of the Zodiac, the equatorial with the names of the month on the outside and graduated in 360 on the inside, the clockwork mechanism with two drum dials, the upper labelled in Arabic numerals 1-60, the lower in Roman numerals I-XII, with arrow pointer, with four decorative scroll supports on tapering brass stand (unlacquered) and circular wooden plinth base, with second larger circular plinth base and protective glass dome -- 20in.
