etching, 1911, on simulated laid paper, a good impression, signed and dated in pencil, presumably one of the few early proofs (this paper cited by Prasse as being used for some of the early proofs), with wide margins, a skilfully repaired tear at the upper sheet edge, a very short tear at the left sheet edge, one or two very soft handling creases in the right margin, the sheet unevenly shaved at the edges, otherwise in good condition

Lot Essay

Prasse states that it is possible there was an edition of 25 printed in Paris by Lacouriere in the early's 1950s, however, no mention made of the paper stock used. The two other plates re-printed by Lacouriere in the fifties (E41, E53) were issued on Arches wove paper.
