A George III oak longcase clock, late 18th century
The hood with wavy cresting and outset part-fluted columns, the breakarch trunk door flanked by 3/4 length reeded pilasters, on stepped plinth (part lacking to side), the 11in. wide arched white dial with unusual raised centre, painted to the spandrels and arch with flowers, with subsidiary seconds and date aperture to the centre also signed Geo. Suggate Halesworth, with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movment with anchor escapement, replaced seatboard; possibly associated -- 79in. (203cm.) high
