Of cruciform with Gotzkowsky erhabene Blumen and painted with Holzschnittblumen, the border with the Imperial Russian Double Eagle and the badge of the Order of St. Andrew the First Called, within a gilt trellis and flowerhead rim

Lot Essay

From a service given by Augustus III (1696-1763) to Elizabeth I of Russia (1707-1762) in 1744. Some 440 pieces of the service are listed in an inventory, dated 5 November 1745, of certain chattles belonging to the Imperial household of St. Petersburg. The present example is included on this list.
