The hood with carved rosettes to the swan neck pediment, outset fluted columns and arched tracery sound frets (one with some losses), the square top trunk door flanked by fluted pilasters, on plain plinth raised on a skirting with bracket feet, the 12in. cut away brass dial with foliate spandrels to the brass chapter ring, engraved foliate scrolls to the centre with seconds ring and penny date aperture, spade hands, signed on a plaque in the arch John Adamson Kilmarnock, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 85in. (217cm.) high
