AN UNUSUAL JUNYAO JAR
JIN DYNASTY

The jar has an ovoid body raised on a slightly splayed foot, with two small looped handles on the shoulder of the wide mouth rim, the vessel entirely covered in an opaque blue glaze, except for part of the interior and the footrim exposing the stoneware body and with two areas of splashed copper to provide the characteristic purple tone
