A very fine and extremely rare sword with 31 in. fullered blade, etched on one side with foliate decoration, GR cypher and GRENADIER GUARDS in large script, the other side inscribed FOR MY COUNTRY and KING and bearing the Royal Arms, regulation gilt-brass guard (no Grenade above the cypher), good wire-bound fishskin grip, original tasselled sword-knot and black leather scabbard with gilt mounts, by R.
