[c.1966] A 16-inch (40.6cm.) diameter terrestrial library globe made up of two sets of twelve chromolithographed gores, the applied equatorial graduated in degrees, the oceans showing warm and cold ocean currents, depths in feet, shipping routes with distances in nautical miles, trenches and shelf ice, the Antarctic with a note reading The Amundsen-Scott Station (U.S.) was established at the Pole 1956 and has been continuously occupied ever since, the North Pole with a note reading Glacial period ice; average elevation 7,000 feet, thickness in some places exceeds 10,000 feet, the continents with nation states delicately shaded in various colours and showing towns and cities of four different sizes, rivers, mountains with elevations in feet, watefalls, intermittant lakes, and the Great Wall of China, the Congo labelled DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (some small areas of discolouration and wrinkling) with aluminium hour dial and moulded meridian circle, held in a mahogany horizon ring on three turned legs to concave triform base with bun feet --31½in.
