AN AMERICAN SILVER COMPOTE
Maker's mark of Lincoln & Foss, Boston, 19th century
The domed circular base rising to form a tall stem in the form of a tree trunk, supporting an incurved shallow circular bowl with a pierced outer border composed of oak leaves and acorns, and with bifurcated rustic handles at either end surmounted by oak leaves and an acorn.
8¾in. high, diameter of bowl 11in.; 31oz.
