Large broadsheets (620 x 463mm). Engraved throughout, 33 leaves of calligraphic text within a decorative border by Perrot, 9 with large cartouche vignettes, 9 double-page plates of ceremonies and processions, 30 plates of court costume, and one double-page table, engraved by various artists, including d'Ulin, Cochin, Larmessin, Du Change, Tardieu, Beauvais, Desplaces, Depuis, etc.. (Marginal spotting in one double-page plate.) Contemporary French black morocco with central arms of Louis XV [Olivier 2495, fer 20] on sides, wide border incorporating fleur-de-lys, Louis's crowned cypher in spine compartments, gilt edges (discreet repairs at spine and corners, splits at spine, lightly rubbed). Provenance: ?Anton Kaiser (bookplate).

PROBABLY THE MOST MAGNIFICENT OF ALL FÊTE BOOKS. The text is by Danchet. Vinet 525; Brunet V, 19 'ce volume est recherché à cause de belles planches qu'il renferme'.
