The architectural frame with its oak and acanthus festoons and Vitruvian wave-scrolled fret is designed in the George II 'Roman' fashion popularised by Isaac Ware in his 'Designs of Inigo Jones and others', 1732 and 'Complete Body of Architecture', 1756.
