An early 20th-Century Kershaw's demonstration Lantern,
signed on the maker's plate W.& J. George LTD Birmingham , the finely constructed mahogany body with lacquered-brass fittings, oxidised tin lantern cover, the focusing lens with prism adjusted by rack and pinion, the 4-inch diameter horizontal lens with mahogany slide holder, detachable 4-inch diameter bull's-eye vertical lens, horizontal focusing adjustment for the prism, on plinth base -- 21½in. (54.6cm.) long, the interior containing a bull's-eye lens and adjustable mirror, maximum height adjustment -- 21¼in. (54cm.)
