With rebrowned twist barrels signed on the narrow rib and with silver fore-sight, case-hardened recessed sloping patent breeches each with four platinum lines and platinum-lined touch-hole, deeply grooved case-hardened tang engraved with scrolls and foliage on a matted ground, signed case-hardened locks engraved with marine monsters and foliage and inscribed respectively 'Patent 2517' and 'Patent 2518' to the rear of the swept rainproof pan, rollers, blued steel-springs, signed patent steels numbered respectively '2517' and '2518', fiddle-pattern maple half-stock, chequered grip, blued iron mounts engraved en suite with the tang, with two birds on the trigger-guard, silver escutcheon, brass-mounted ramrod, and some original finish, London proof marks
