A NORTH GERMAN BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY COMMODE
Late 18th Century
The canted rectangular top above a frieze drawer carved with an interlaced chair motif and mounted with knobs, above two drawers with cut-cornered panels with rosettes in the corners, the sides decorated conformingly, on square tapering legs headed by panelled plasters an a sphere and terminating in a lozenge border above block feet, restorations, previously but possibly not originally with escutheon mounts and futher rosettes just above the feet
