Consisting of two tiers and cover with an interior tray; the exterior with a gold lacquer ground embellished with sparse gold hirame flakes, decorated in gold and aokin takamaki-e with stylised bird and flower roundels, the tray decorated in similar techniques with stylised cranes and clouds, the other surfaces dense gold nashiji, the rims edged in silver
