Edward Felix Dye was born in 1875 and entered Royal Service in the Gardens at Sandringham in 1890. During the latter part of his career he was in charge of the Carnation House. In 1930 he received the Royal Household Token for Long and Faithful Service - an award for Estate Workers, designed to be worn on the watch chain. Dye was still in service in the gardens at Sandringham in 1943, aged 68 years, when he received the Royal Victorian Medal.
