A 'VENETIAN' ENAMELLED BLUE STANDING BOWL
19th Century
Of dark tint, the bowl with everted folded rim and enamelled in predominent shades of blue, green and grey and enriched in gilding with a continuous festive processional scene including a king reclining on a cart drawn by two equestrian figures blowing trumpets and surrounded by courtiers, and with a multitude of figures at various pursuits including playing a mandolin and carrying a sacrificial animal, on a grassy sward and beneath a gilt border with incised lines, on a high conical spreading foot with folded rim, (gilding rubbed)
