A late 19th-Century oxidised-brass Everest-pattern theodolite,
unsigned, the telescope with rack and pinion focusing, dust cap, four spider's-web adjusters, with axis mounted on twin vertical supports, with two silvered quadrant scales with verniers and magnifiers, tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, with compensating balance weight and bubble level, raised on the horizontal plate incorporating a graduated cross-bubble and fine-screw vertical adjustment, the chamfered silvered horizontal scale with three verniers, single adjustable magnifier, the lower limb and tripod mounting with four adjustable screws and clamping piece, the telescope with ray shade -- 163/8in. (41.5cm.) long
