by TROUGHTON & SIMMS LONDON, the telescope with aluminium object glass attachment, graduated bubble level, rack and pinion horizontal motion, rack and pinion vertical motion to the eyepiece, with spider's-web adjusters, the axis incorporating the 4-inch vertical circle with silvered scale, twin verniers and magnifiers, with bubble level, raised on twin A-frame supports from the horizontal plate, with cross-bubble enclosing the silvered horizontal circle with unusual fold-over windows to protect the verniers and silvered scales, with adjustable magnifiers, tangent-screw fine adjustment with clamp, on tripod attachment, in the original mahogany case -- 13¼in.
