A porcelain covered chocolate can and saucer of the Saint George Order Service
probably by the Gardner Factory, St. Petersburg, circa 1778
The cylindrical cup and circular saucer, painted with the ribbon and badge of the order, the domed cover with the ribbon and angular finial, apparently unmarked
the saucer 51/8in. (13cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The Saint George Order Service was ordered by Catherine the Great in 1777 for 80 places and completed in 1778.
