A Swiss large gilt-bronze mounted and malachite-veneered musical bracket clock with wall bracket, mid 18th century and later
The later malachite-veneered case of waisted form and with gilt-bronze foliate mounts (re-gilt), the pediment with openwork half urn cresting above a radiant female mask, the sides with drop-down lattice sound frets, the front door with central urn mount topped by a bow and quiver, overlaid on an engraved brass panel (later), the white enamel Roman convex dial with dotted minute track and Arabic quarters (restored) and brass sun hands, the twin train movement with silk suspension and verge escapement, rack work on the backplate, at hour striking on high tone bell and at half hour striking last hour on lower tone bell, with trip to musical movement with 11in. pinned cylinder playing eight tunes, with tune selection and start/stop lever to the side -- 45½in. (115.5cm.) high; and the wall bracket en suite -- 18¾in. (77.5cm.) high
