A Victorian brass striking skeleton clock, cirrca 1880
Of York Minster design, with central bell for passing half hour strike, applied with a silvered plaque signed W. Davis & Son London, on stepped oval white marble base and on marble flattened feet (one lacking), the skeletonized and silvered dial engraved with Gothic style chapters, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on gong, wheels and motion work with six crossings, trip repeat, wood rod pendulum with cylindrical pewter bob; formerly under glass dome -- 23¾in. (60.5cm.) high
