An English elm and oak longcase clock with walnut crossbanding
The case with stepped top hood, arched glazed side panels, with outset front columns and pilasters to the rear, with crossbanded trunk door, on plinth with raised panel, the 12in. square cut away brass dial with engraved border, conforming decoration to a later arch with silvered disc siged Uriah Brandreth Middlewich, within dolphin spandrels, with cherub mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with elaborate fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with recessed seconds dial marked at intervals of 10, date aperture and ringed winding holes, with black painted hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, lacking one dial foot; case 19th century, dial and movement, second quarter 18th century -- 79¼in. (202cm.) high
