An early Victorian mahogany longcase clock, mid 19th century
The case with swan neck cresting to the hood and dentil cornices, inlaid mock pilasters to the front and integral sound frets to the sides, the rectangular trunk door with line inlay and inlaid bats' wing spandrels flanked by line inlaid canted angles, with conforming decoration to the plinth raised on bracket feet, the 13½in. wide white dial painted with loch scenes to the spandrels, white centre with Roman chapters, signed JA,S MURISON RENFREW, with subsidiary seconds and date rings (dial retouched), pinned directly to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; case possibly associated to dial and movement -- 85½in. (127cm.) high
