AN EMBELLISHED GREY JADE MUGHAL DAGGER
18TH/19TH CENTURY

The handle is carved as the head of a ram, with its mouth slightly open and the fur finely incised for detail, the mottled stone of dark grey tone softening to lighter grey at the tip, suffused throughout with dark speckles, inlaid with gold leaves and flowers, inset with rubies and chalcedony (extremity chips, some embellishments later added)
