Lot Essay

Major-General Walter John Vizard, who was born in 1829 and was commissioned as an Ensign in the Madras Army in February 1846, subsequently rose to command the 35th Madras N.I., which Regiment formed part of the original Madras Brigade deployed in April 1852.
