A 19th Century bone model of a 78-gun man-of-war
with bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging, carved figurehead, hair rails, anchors, catheads, belaying rails, capstan, bell with canopy over, nettings, well deck with balustrading, upper deck guns, companionways, ship's boat and other details. The hull, planked in bone over a wooden hull, is fitted with stern and quarter galleries with glazed windows and carved decoration and is mounted on a decorative bone stand (restored, some old damage) -- 22 x 31½in. (56 x 80cm.)
