A SYRIAN HAEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
Circa 1700-1600 B.C.
With a three-figure scene, to the right a standing male figure in a short Syrian kilt and the Egyptian atef-crown, holding a standard topped with a flower in one hand, an unknown object in his lowered hand, a standing woman before him wearing a long plain robe and an Egyptian wig with a Hathor headdress, holding a wavy vine (?) in her extended hand, and to the left a standing man in fringed mantle and kilt with one arm raised, a monkey and a symbol as fillers, the terminal in two registers divided by guilloche, a recumbent winged griffin above and a recumbent goat below, a bovine head above the goat
