The figures are thought to represent Cupid and Psyche, although the print source is not known. Compare the very similar plate in the Royal Museums of Art and History, Brussels, exhibited Hong Kong, 1989-90, Chinese Export Porcelain, pp.217-8, no.85. Others are illustrated by D. S.
