An English ebonised musical table clock
The rectangular case with pierced brass sound fret panel to the top, fretted wire panel to the rear door, on moulded base raised on block feet, with ormolu bezel to the white enamel Roman dial, signed FRENCH Royal Exchange LONDON, later blued steel moon hands, with tune selection lever below XII for GOD SAVE THE KING or JIG, with pendulum regulation to the bezel by XII and strike/silent lever by IIII, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement with adapted escapement, with hourly music on eight bells via eight hammers, positioned between the plates, hour strike on bell to the backplate with repeat signature; associated, movement and dial first/second quarter 19th century and in later case -- 12¼in. (31cm.) high
