A Victorian oak, mahogany and crossbanded longcase clock, mid 19th Century
The hood with moulded swan neck pediment with later brass urn finials above boxwood and mahogany panels and outset ring-turned baluster columns, above a shaped rectangular trunk door centred by an inlaid patera and flanked by fluted pilasters, above a rectangular panel and a plinth with raised cut-corner panel, on bracket feet, the 13in. wide white dial with painted scene to the arch depicting a female figure in a landscape and a house to the background, with churches to the spandrels, the white centre with Roman chapters, subsidiary seconds ring and arch date aperture, signed Thos. Mycock Waterfall, with pierced brass hands, falseplate stamped BAKER BIRMINGHAM to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 87in. (221cm.) high
