The large inro of rounded rectangular shape decorated in gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, togidashi, kirigane and inlaid in mother-of-pearl, colored ivory, coral, aogai and horn on a kinji ground, with two falconers laughing as their birds frighten off an old monkey trainer, the reverse with four skeletons merrymaking in a graveyard, one dancing atop a lotus pedestal as another plays a koto, their two companions eating and drinking, one leaning on an overturned tombstone inscribed "generations of ancestors", interior cases nashiji; fitted with a carved lacquer bead ojime and a wood netsuke carved as a Gigaku mask, inscribed Tako--4¼in. (10.8cm.) high
