The small rectangular chest decorated on the exterior with chrysanthemums by a stream in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, togidashi, kirigane and nashiji on a kinji ground, the hinged door opening to reveal three fitted drawers lacquered in iro-e togidashi with autumn leaves, the interior of the door decorated with a kusudama (a Boy's Day garland), sudare, and iris in iro-e hiramaki-e, togidashi and aogai on a roiro ground embellished with hirame and kimpun, fitted with silver handle, corner brackets, door fittings and drawer pulls--4 5/8 x 3 3/8 x 4in.
