On bun feet, the plain plinth and trunk door similarly veneered in oyster parquetry, the door incorporating an octagonal glazed lenticle, convex moulding below the rising flat top hood with twist columns flanking the signed 9½ inch square dial with narrow silvered chapter ring enclosing date and winding apertures in the matted center, winged cherub spandrels, the movement with anchor cut out on backplate, four latched pillars and dial feet, the going train with later anchor, great wheel adjacent backplate, bolt and shutter maintaining power, the striking train with great wheel and countwheel adjacent front plate, c. 1680 with restorations--75in. (191cm.) high
