(10 13/16 x 8 3/8 x 1in.), brown levant morocco, covers with double gilt fillet enclosing a broad inner panel border of Art Nouveau flower and leaf sprays on single gilt stems, the pink onlaid morocco flower heads and green onlaid morocco leaves massed in the four corners and at the center of each side, gilt dotted panels and fox head corner ornaments, spine in six compartments with five raised gilt dotted bands, gilt lettered in two compartments, a repeated panel with flower and leaf onlay and fox head ornament in the rest; board edges with single gilt fillet, turn-ins gilt, blue silk linings, g.e., original red cloth covers and spine preserved, stamp-signed by the binders on lower turn-in. 40 engraved plates on 37 leaves, including engraved title, by French, Heawood and Payne, captions in English and German.
