A BUSHU SCHOOL TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800)

The oval iron plate is pierced and carved with a design of peony blooms and a butterfly. This bold carving has good surface details on each side, and the edge has some running iron bones--height 7.7cm., width 7.4cm., thickness 5.75mm.
